Who’s design will we choose? Who’s responsible for building each section? When the marble hits the loop, will it be moving fast enough? Is our frame strong enough to hold the track? How do I make the marble ride last longer? Will it be aesthetically pleasing? These are just a few of the many questions G7 & G8 STEAM students are asking as they collaboratively design and build their marble roller coasters.
In just three weeks time, the roller coasters will be put to the test. Teams will have to successfully run 5 marbles from top to bottom. Judges will be looking at the specifications list to see if there’s: at least one loop / 6 turns / a funnel / longer rides / creative style / well thought out aesthetics. It will be a sight to see as the 10 teams compete for the gold! (or well, maybe for the pizza!?).
