G7 & G8 STEAM students are getting to know the “Design Cycle” as they take further steps toward building their own marble roller coaster. Students are already making prototype designs as you can see Saad (G7) sharing his first try in the photo below. The design cycle walks students through the inquiry process of Investigating – Planning – Creating and Evaluating, all woven together to create a process that allows for mistakes and learning from those mistakes.. As you can see in the other images, everything is being carefully documented in students’ “Process Journals”, including goals, design plans, timelines, reflections and more.
