Primary Years

creating lifelong learners

Our primary students are given the skills they need to  actively drive their own learning and explore their full potential

Creating a place where young children can grow, developing their potential and understandings of the world around them.

Primary children are like sponges, sucking up all the new and exciting things that are presented to them. At ABIS we work hard to understand the strengths of each individual child and use that understanding to help them develop in all areas of the curriculum.

Encouraging children to learn collaboratively and imaginatively

Surrounded by learning

Books and examples of work are everywhere in our school. We want children to be surrounded by examples of excellence so they recognise what it looks like… and how much work is required to create it!

Sharing new skills

ABIS challenges our students to give their best all the time. We believe that only if they are encouraged to understand that good things come to people who work hard will they really be able to achieve their full potential.

Caring Teachers

Our teachers are recruited globally. We put enormous effort into finding and keeping the very best teachers that we can. In the end, buildings and grounds mean nothing if the teachers who work in them are not up to scratch.

Reflective Learning

At ABIS we don’t work our way through text books. Instead, we challenge our children to construct their own understandings by using the wide range of research and analysis skills that we teach them.

The Primary Years Programme for our youngest children

The PYP prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child.
