Introduction To Oman Week
We had an enjoyable day: decorating biscuits in Omani flag colours (except the red food colouring turned the icing orange!) Maybe the butter already had a yellow colour in it?! We also worked on a group Islamic art mosaic picture and our own desert pictures.
Getting Ready and Excited for Oman Week
Our teachers showed us how they prepared the paper for our Islamic style mosaic. We chose the colours to use and then we cut the paper strips into squares. We also talked about the plan and activities for Oman Week. We are feeling very excited.
Fact or Fiction
As part of reading and writing we have been discussing fact or fiction. The students have labelled pictures of animals identifying facts they know. From there they have been writing drafts with their facts and ultimately they will publish a non-fiction book.
