This week we had a trip to the Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Sohar. The students took a tour and were shown around each of the areas. In English we were learning about persuasive writing and in maths we have been working on fractions of numbers.

This week we looked at semi fore as a non verbal form of communicating. The students spelled out their names using flags. In maths we started working on fractions, first looking at equal and unequal parts then at dividing shapes into halves and quarters.

This week students worked at the ‘fraction factory’ where they had to create shapes and divide them into 1/2s, 1/4s and 1/8s. The students really enjoyed it and gained a better understanding of how fractions work.
