Students of sixth and seventh grades have completed an exciting project modeling Native American houses. They have been working on this project for over 5 weeks and have organised an exhibition for Grade 4 and 5 students.
There were many different types of American Indian houses in North America. Since North America is such a big continent, different tribes had very different weather to contend with. So, visitors were “toured” across the continent, all the way from the North and its longhouses to the tipi houses of the South.
If you asked them about their house models, they would give you a detailed explanation regarding the kind of house it is and its purpose. They explained how it is related to the local climate and locally sourced materials.
It turned out to be a fabulous experience for all!
