What an absolutely unforgettable week in the ABIS Music Department! We have officially entered our major performance season, and the sheer dedication, talent, and energy filling the school has been nothing short of inspiring.

This week, we find ourselves celebrating the magnificent achievements of our youngest performers while simultaneously shifting into high gear for the exciting milestones right around the corner.

A Huge Celebration: KG1, KG2, Grades 1 & 2

They Sang Their Hearts Out!

Today, our Early Years and Lower Primary students took to the stage for their long-awaited Summer Concert, and they completely blew us away!

Stepping onto a big stage under bright lights can be daunting, but these students performed with incredible confidence. Learning and memorizing an entirely new repertoire of “big” songs—filled with complex rhythms, choreography, and some very mature vocabulary—is a massive milestone that deserves to be celebrated. They shared their joy openly, hit their cues beautifully, and quite literally sang their hearts out.

  • Learner Profile: Risk-Takers – For stepping up onto the stage with courage and sharing their voices proudly with our school community.

  • ATL Skills: Self-Management (Resilience) – Overcoming nerves and showing great focus to deliver a polished, heartwarming live performance.

Grades 3, 4 & 5

Shifting Gears for June 11th

With the lower primary concert successfully wrapped up, the spotlight now shifts! Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 have officially moved into top gear as they finalize preparations for their own upcoming Summer Concert on Thursday, June 11th, 2026.

This week, students worked on spatial awareness, vocal projection, and smoothing out the transitions between pieces. The enthusiasm is contagious as they prepare to showcase the cultural narratives, expressions, and musical skills they have cultivated over the term.

  • Learner Profile: Knowledgeable – Applying everything they have learned about stage presence, dynamics, and lyrical meaning to their final rehearsal runs.

  • ATL Skills: Social (Collaboration) – Working tightly as an ensemble to ensure every voice, instrument, and movement is synchronized.

Grade 6

Honoring the Journey: Graduation & Concert Prep

Our Grade 6 students are carrying a double portion of responsibility—and handling it with immense maturity. Not only are they preparing for the June 11th concert, but they have also been working incredibly hard to perfect their special performance for Graduation Ceremony next which was on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026.

This week’s rehearsals were highly focused, blending technical precision with the deep emotional weight of saying goodbye to Primary school.

  • Learner Profile: Reflective – Channeling their shared memories and personal growth into the emotional delivery of their graduation piece.

  • ATL Skills: Communication – Utilizing advanced vocal control and expression to convey a powerful message of transition, gratitude, and future hope.
