As the beautiful and reflective month of Ramadan unfolds, our Performing Arts lessons have taken an exciting turn towards the world of Drama and Theatre! This month, our young performers have been diving into storytelling, acting, and theatrical techniques, using creativity and imagination to bring their ideas to life on stage.

KG1 – Grade 2: Expressing Through Drama Games 🎭🎨

Our youngest learners in KG1, KG2, Grade 1, and Grade 2 explored Drama Games, using their voices, movements, and emotions to express themselves.

What did they learn?

  • 🎨 Exploring Emotions Through Colours – How does red feel? What does blue sound like? Students connected feelings with colors, enhancing their expressive skills.
  • 🎭 Expression & Voice Projection – They experimented with facial expressions, body language, and using their voice confidently to act out different scenarios.
  • 🎬 Storytelling Through Drama Games – The little ones had a fantastic time creating their own short stories, acting out everyday experiences, and bringing their imaginations to life.

Watching them play, explore, and laugh through drama was a joy to see! Their creativity was limitless as they transformed into different characters, animals, and even objects, showing great confidence and enthusiasm.

Grades 3 – 6: Stepping into the World of Theatre 🎭✨

The older students in Grades 3 to 6 took a deeper dive into the art of theatre. They discovered the magic behind the stage and how different elements come together to create a powerful performance.

🎟️ Key Highlights from Their Learning:

  • 🎭 Theatre Conventions – What makes a great performance? Students explored different types of theatre, learning about protagonists, antagonists, and the structure of a play (beginning, conflict, climax, and resolution).
  • 🎬 Stage Directions & Blocking – Understanding the different areas of the stage and how actors move with purpose to tell a story visually.
  • 🎨 Costumes, Lighting & Staging – How does lighting change the mood? What do costumes tell us about a character? Students analyzed how these elements bring a performance to life.
  • 🎭 Directing & Acting – Some students took on the role of directors, while others played different characters, experimenting with dialogue, movement, and emotions.

They were thrilled to practice their skills, collaborate, and bring stories to life on our mini classroom stage!
