As part of literacy that your child is doing at ABIS, the EAL department would like to introduce the Nessy Program. This is an online program designed to support students with their reading, writing and spelling and is particularly good for students with dyslexia or who struggle with literacy. Nessy believes that if children have fun then learning becomes more memorable. Where children play games the increased level of engagement leads to dramatic improvements.’ (Nessy website) Students will be following a program which is tailor made for them depending on the areas that they need extra practice in. This is formatted based on the answers that students give to some initial questions at the start of the program. Students will have a lesson a week when they will be following the Nessy program combined with some time of one to one reading with their teacher.
