In grade 7 and 8 Individuals and Societies classes we have begun to delve into our first units, all the while still getting to know each other and ourselves and learning how to navigate the  world of online learning and teaching. In both classes we talked about visual, auditory and tactile learning styles and how those can connect to online learning. We even took quizzes to identify which styles we tended to prefer and made class pictograms to better help us work together as a learning community. Lots of visual and tactile learners in both classes!

The 7th grade has started their investigation into the inquiry statement ” Maps provide insight into time, place and space and show how the world has changed over time, but they can be affected by different perspectives” , while the 8th grade has begun looking into “The governance of societies is organized by different systems that are used to distribute power, affecting fairness and development.” Stay tuned for more updates as their investigations continue!
