Grade 7/8 Literature just finished their study of Oxford Playscripts, which they have been tackling in small groups for the past weeks. While each play was unique, they shared many of the conventions of plays, including the development of particular characters.
As their final product, each group had to perform a section of the play, focusing on their ability to effectively convey a sense of character to the audience. The groups all did a phenomenal job by working together to perform. They proved that embodying a character is quite easy to do. Some students who had to portray more difficult characters really got into role…and let’s just say some were a bit frightening in their accurate portrayal of some horrible characters!
