🎶 Moving into Top Gear: Final Countdown to the Concerts! 🎶
Al Batinah International School Music Blog – Week of May 22
With just days to go until our Lower Primary Concert (KG1–Grade 2 on May 29th) and a few more weeks until our Upper Primary Concert (Grades 3–6 on June 12th), the Music Department is officially in top gear! The atmosphere across the school is electric as students fine-tune their performances, add the final touches to their choreography, and build excitement for their big moment on stage.
🎭 Polishing Every Note, Step, and Gesture
In every rehearsal, students are showing remarkable focus and determination. Whether it’s synchronizing their movements in a dance, refining their instrumental technique, or projecting their voices with clarity and confidence, each learner is pushing themselves to new artistic heights.
🧑🎤 Soloists and Showcases Ready to Shine
Our Talent Showcase performers are also stepping into the spotlight! From soulful singing and traditional dance to beatboxing and mini-ensembles, our students are preparing unique acts that celebrate their individual voices and creativity.
🌍 Cultural Celebration in Full Bloom
This year’s theme — “Celebrating the Earth and Cultures of the World” — is coming to life in each class. From Ghanaian folk rhythms to joyful global melodies, students are embracing the richness of global music traditions while making them their own.
🪘 Instrumental Brilliance on Display
Instruments are ringing, tapping, and chiming with energy as students master their pieces using percussion, glockenspiels, and more. Grade 2 students, in particular, have taken pride in co-creating original instrumental pieces that reflect their own stories and imaginations.
🧠 Performance Skills & the IB Learner Profile
As we continue rehearsals, students are showing incredible growth in confidence, commitment, and communication. They are reflecting on feedback, supporting one another, and stepping up as leaders in their performance groups — true artists and learners in action!
📣 A Message from the Music Department
“As the final countdown begins, we are so proud of the creativity, collaboration, and heart that each student is bringing to the stage. These concerts are more than performances — they are a celebration of our students’ voices, cultures, and courage to express themselves through music and movement.”
