Summer break is coming soon and sometimes our kids forget many of the English skills they have learned at school. To support your child in maintaining and strengthening their English skills during vacations we have created some simple and enjoyable activities you can do together at home. These activities are designed to be fun, practical, and suitable for all English levels.

Activities to Try at Home:

1. Daily English Conversations
Choose a time each day to speak only in English—during breakfast, a walk, or bedtime. Even a few minutes daily can make a big difference.

2. Read Together
Read English storybooks or articles aloud with your child. Take turns reading pages or discussing the story afterward.

3. Watch English Shows or Movies
Pick age-appropriate shows or movies in English. Watching together and talking about the story helps build listening and speaking skills.

4. Keep a Journal
Encourage your child to write a few sentences each day in English about their experiences, thoughts, or even a short story.

5. Play Word Games
Games like Scrabble, Boggle, or online English games are fun ways to build vocabulary and spelling skills.

6. Sing Songs in English
Listen to and sing along with English songs. Lyrics help with pronunciation and memory through repetition.

7. Label Things Around the House
Label common items (like “door,” “table,” “mirror”) with sticky notes. This helps build everyday vocabulary.

8. Cook with English Recipes
Follow a recipe in English together. This is a fun way to learn kitchen and action words (like stir, chop, mix).

9. Role Play or Tell Stories
Create short role-plays or tell stories in English. It’s a great way to improve confidence in speaking.

10. Use Learning Apps
There are many child-friendly English learning apps available (like Duolingo, Khan Academy Kids, or Fun English) that offer structured practice.

We hope this give you some ideas to continue supporting your child at home.
