Grade 7 students were tasked to create their own quiz questions and answers based on a reading text about the geography of Mesopotamia. In class, this week, they were introduced to the Kagan Cooperative Learning structure called Quiz-Quiz-Trade. This activity is designed to encourage social skill development as students engage in cooperative and helping behaviours. The students wrote one of their questions on a slip of paper with the answer on the back. They then went around the room quizzing each other. Once they were sure that both knew the answers to their questions, they traded questions and went off to find someone else to quiz. This was repeated a few times. Enough times for students to hear a variety of questions.
