The chemistry internal assessment (IA) is a crucial component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) meant to cultivate academic rigor. Its significance lies in its ability to promote inquiry-based learning and critical thinking, which are essential skills for success in the 21st century.
The IA requires students to design and carry out an experimental investigation, analyze their findings, and communicate their results in a formal report. Following a rigorous mock exam schedule, our Grade 11 chemistry students embarked on an introduction to the Chemistry Internal Assessment (IA). They engaged in data collection and recording, laying the groundwork for in-depth analysis and the creation of a comprehensive IA-formatted report.
