Last week, 14 secondary students traveled to Muscat to participate in The Sultan’s School Model United Nations Conference. This is the largest MUN event in Oman with approximately 500 delegates in attendance. Our students made a tremendous contribution to the conference with ABIS delegates representing countries in the General Assembly, Disarmament and International Security Committee, Social, Humanitarian & Cultural Committee, and Security Council. This is all the more impressive considering that more than half of our delegates were attending their first MUN conference. ABIS students submitted and successfully passed numerous amendments to resolutions and 3 of our delegates were main submitters of successful resolutions. Maria Clara Santana was recognized as both best ABIS delegate and best overall delegate conference-wide. The ABIS MUN club is very proud of the work and preparation that went into this event.
