The DP students have been exploring specialised cells as part of their understanding of cells. Students had the opportunity to explore different specialised cells in the human body and how these cells are adapted to perform their functions. As part of the exploration, they shared their findings with their peers. Students have started talking about neural transmission which deals with how electrical signals are transported in nerve cells. It is expected that at the end of the lesson, students will understand the differences between nervous transmission and chemical transmission and describe how action potentials are generated in the nerve cells.
