In Grade 11, the DP Music students are beginning AOI 1: Music for Socio-Political and Cultural Expression.  But what makes Music cultural?  Is it the instruments used? But then how do you explain the different cultures that use the same instruments?  Is it the rhythms? But what if a specific rhythm is found in multiple genres?  What about the lyrics? But what about societies that speak the same language?  For this first task, the students have been challenged to try and identify what makes a specific music culture.  What makes Fado, Fado?
