In English we are coming to the end of our present unit. We have finished reading the novel ‘The Outsiders,’ and have watched the movie. Students compared the movie to the book and we discussed the differences and reasons for those differences. At the moment students are working on the last summative task of the unit which is a poster in which they trace the development of a character of their choice.
In Individuals and Societies we are also approaching the end of the unit on explorers. Students have studied about famous explorers from different eras in history as well as investigating explorations that are happening today. There will be one more summative assessment before the end of the unit and that will be a report on the influence of two explorers on the present day.
