Grade 10 I&S students are currently studying the connections between ideology and politics.  More specifically, we have been exploring the ways in which certain groups in society engage politically based on a shared identity.  We began the unit with an overview of the political spectrum and identified key terminology that is commonly used in political discussions.  Students then researched various identity groups in order to examine ways in which economic and social realities can help to shape political ideology.  We are currently looking at a set of historical case studies to explore this topic.  It has been a pleasure to see the students engage in research and present their findings in purposeful and effective ways.
