The music department has welcomed our students back to teach them face to face. The class contract of respecting each other, the environment and ourselves has worked very well. All my students have entered the music room with respect finding their socially distanced places and not touching instruments until ready.
Each music class is designed to develop important skills for that specific grade level. K1 and 2 showed the ability to move to the beat of the music and sing songs.
Grade 1 to 3 played the glockenspiel and learnt to read the note E on the musical stave. Ukuleles were practiced in grade 4 where the students learnt the open strings and two simple chords that will be used to play a song.
Students in grade 5 started to explore song lyrics and grade 6 started the exciting rhythms of Samba.
