Grade 9 French students agree that listening to music is a great way to relax. In their unit on hobbies, many discovered that they enjoy listening to similar types of music, including music by French artists.
To practice their listening skills, students were tasked with completing a cloze activity; an activity in which words are removed from a text for students to fill in. We listened to a song by French singer Kendji Girac to complete our cloze activity in class. Several students were surprised by how much they understood, given that listening tasks can prove to be quite tricky for beginning language learners!
