Learning has no limits or boundaries. Grade 1 students continue developing skills and knowledge in so many ways. From personal projects, such as writing a comic book, and taking new challenges, as some children are involved with their sibling’s activities, the road to life-long learning has endless possibilities.

The children have also put great effort into building exciting dioramas which integrated concepts and skills from Math and Language Arts. After picking a theme of their interest, the children used their research skills as they gathered information. They used creative thinking skills as they combined natural and unnatural elements, and used prior knowledge and acquired knew knowledge as they built their creation. One child chose to recreate one of her favorite scenes from a book she wrote.

An inquiry-based approach to learning where children have the agency to drive their learning is a highly valuable experience. It is lovely to see the continuity of our methods at ABIS during challenging times.
