Sunday through Wednesday Grade 6s are in reading groups. Three groups are reading novels and completing various jobs.
Ask your child about how to be a vocabulary enhancer, discussion leader, literary master, connector, image maker or summarizer.
Sometimes students find the novel challenging. in the Lit Circle group they are developing strategies to help them understand the plot, setting and characters. Talking about the elements of the book help. Some of them also like to listen to the book and read along.
Another group works on their reading with Ms.Willis and Mr. Isles.
We are engaged in our States of Matter Unit. We are building vocabulary and knowledge in class. Wednesday Mr. LOPEZ demonstrated properties of matter in the lab. It was great!
Ask your child what is going on in each of these demonstration.
