Day1:

Sunday: We drove quite uneventfully to the beehive tombs  in Yanqil and had luch there, under the impressive wall of Jebel Mist. Right after we approached Wadi Dam and did an easy hike for around an hour, until we reached a safe pond of crystal clear (and rather) water where two of our students dared to have a swim. Students enjoyed the more challenging parts of the trek where we had to get over obstacles using some basic climbing techniques. Back on route to the resort, we arrived still in daylight and ready for a delicious dinner. Some of the students were playing UNO with the teachers and the rest went straight to bed as they were pretty tired by that time.

Day 2.

Monday: Abseiling and via ferrata activities did happen. All the students who participated completed the two parts of the activity and overcame their fears at the same time learning some new techniques. Most of the students pointed out that the most challenging part of it was the first abseiling bit, where you had to lean towards the void and get started. They pointed out as well that many of them found the via ferrata more interesting, as it required some extra physical exercise rather than just technique. Some teachers (I am talking about Ms Thomas here) discovered that going against gravity is more energy consuming than rolling down hills. All students ended the day very happy that they achieve something out of their comfort zones. After all this, dinner, showers and back to sleep at the resort, to get energy for day 3 (Balcony walk trek).
