As the G7s now know, learning about electricity and how it works could actually save them money one day! Why is that? Well, pretty much all of our electrical appliances, including washing machines, blenders, ovens, refrigerators, and more, all have electrical circuits that make them work. They are actually pretty simple and now the G7s have the basic knowledge needed to troubleshoot a circuit. They can spot a shorted circuit, a grounded circuit or and an open circuit.
Along with this understanding, the G7s spent time this week showing each other what happens to the voltage and current when we add a battery or a resister to a circuit. This was very much a “hands-on” unit on electricity in the safe environment of the new ABIS science lab.
Stay tuned for more from the grade 7 science experience!
