On Monday ABIS swimmers travelled to Muscat to compete in their first ever inter schools competition and what a fantastic job they did. Competing against schools about four times the size of ABIS with swimmers sometimes 2 years older our swimmers acquitted themselves admirably and put up some very strong opposition against their opponents. Nearly all of our swimmers swam personal best in all their races with Hannah showing the biggest improvement bettering her old time by 7 seconds in the 25m backstroke. Anton also showed great improvement with the competition as he improved by 6 seconds in his 50m breastroke while Etienne and Tamika also had 5 second improvements in their races.
Not having a very big swim team meant that some of our swimmers swam in nearly every race and Chloe, Tamika, David and Isaac deserve a special mention for their heroic efforts. Chloe and Tamika took out the honors with Tamika earning 4 seconds and a third while Chloe ended with 3 firsts, 3 seconds and a third.
Well done all swimmers on an excellent effort. Thank you also to all the parents for their support and help with transport.
