Our Grade 8 scientists kicked off their first unit this week by bringing ecology to life! Stepping into the lab, you could feel the energy as students collaborated in teams to design and build vibrant 3D ecosystem models. Creativity was on full display from lush rainforest canopies to intricate marine habitats crafted with impressive attention to detail. This hands-on launch marks a fantastic start to the year. With their physical habitats in place, students are now ready to dive deeper, investigating organism interactions, energy flows, and environmental balances within their miniature worlds.
Beyond this unit, the inquiry and modeling skills developed here establish essential conceptual foundations for advanced ecological studies throughout the MYP and into the DP sciences. We cannot wait to see their analytical discoveries unfold in the coming weeks. Great work, Grade 8!
