The grade 9s continue to explore protest poetry and this week they began by exploring 2 poets, Thomas Hardy and Wilfred Owen. They engaged in the Thinking Routine SEE-THINK-WONDER based on an image. Did they ask questions about value of life based on the image? Did they ask questions about would remember the people in the image? Did they ask questions about human life and dignity based on the image? We then organised their questions into 3 categories: Value, Memory, and Dignity.
