That first week with the Grade 9s has wrapped up brilliantly! We’ve successfully launched our inquiry-driven unit on the kinetic theory of matter, which is providing a solid foundation for their future studies in IBDP Physics. Following their pattern from last term, the students are using investigative techniques to explore core concepts. They’ve just completed the design phase of their investigation into how temperature affects the movement of particles in water. The energy and thought put into their experimental designs were impressive. Next week, they’ll transition to collecting and analyzing their data, a crucial step in cementing their understanding of particle motion and thermal energy. I’m excited to see the insights they uncover and how this hands-on approach deepens their learning. It’s fantastic seeing them build these scientific process skills early on.
