Grade 8 students are delving deeper into the sub-genres of science fiction. They have explored alien invasion texts and movie trailers, such as H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds. They have started looking at the conventions of dystopian science fiction, which they learn is often based on political ideology. They have been practicing their collaboration skills by working in pairs and sharing their work for discussion in small group.
