In Music, the Grade 7s have been learning and exploring the sounds, timbres, and textures of Gamelan orchestras from Southeast Asia. Using the instruments available to us in the Music room, the students have been constructing and composing pieces in small groups. All compositions were required to use a xylophone set to a pentatonic scale as a foundation, leaving the students to build around it. And this week, the students performed their compositions for their peers. Thank you to Mr. Chris and Mr. Johnson for their support and advisory time, and well done to the Grade 7 students on their creative performances.
