The Grade 10 class has had an excellent start to the school year! Sunday was a day of reconnecting with classmates and teachers. Since then, students have settled into their new classroom space nicely and are quickly establishing patterns and routines that will hopefully lead to a successful school year. In Individuals and Societies we have collaborated to establish agreements related to academic and study skills that will aid in preparing students for the year ahead. These include effective time management, maintaining balance in our daily lives, and becoming better communicators. Our first unit of inquiry in I&S will look at the relationship between ideology and politics. More specifically, students will explore ways in which group identity can influence political beliefs and the implications this has for political power. I look forward to working with the Grade 10 class again this year and am excited to see them work to meet their full potential.
