It’s the end of Week 3 of our “Don’t Eat Dirt, Eat For The Earth” competitions!

The Ladybirds and K3 class have been having a competition to see which student can eat the most variety of fruits and vegetables by color! The students receive a colored star to show off which colors of fruits and vegetables they ate that week. Eating more fruits and vegetables is very healthy for you AND is better for the Earth because fruits and vegetables don’t come in any packaging!!! Way to go Ladybirds and K3, thank you for doing your part to stay healthy and to help the Earth.

In Grades 1-6 students have been focusing on having a completely waste free lunch! That means NO packaging or anything else that would end up in the trash bin. It’s been great to see students using reusable water bottles and juice bottles and eating more fruits and vegetables. We have some very creative parents out there that are packing some super healthy and delicious lunches! I’ve even got a few ideas for my own lunches thanks to the variety of the Grade 2 lunches!  Next week we will be starting a “Healthy Waste Free Lunch Hall of Fame” and be posting some of the great lunches that we have been seeing.

Now on to this weeks winner……. Grade 4B Mrs. Drowers class is Week 3’s winner! Grade 4B has won The Green Broccoli Award for 2 weeks in a row now!! Awesome lunches Grade 4B, you should feel very proud!

Who will next week’s winner be??   Stay tuned!
