Grade 7 I&S students have been studying debate skills with topics that relate to global citizenship. They held their second debate this week and I was blown away by their progress! They worked especially hard on providing evidence to support their side’s arguments as well as making sure to use and cite reliable sources for that evidence.
They are gaining important life skills such as teamwork, cooperation, public speaking skills, organization, clarity, and identifying point of view. We will continue to work on building logical arguments, identifying bias, and the difference between fact and opinion.
