As Grade 1 investigates life cycles in nature, they noticed that seeds come in different colors, shapes and sizes. They made predictions and observed what happened to beans that were placed on moist cotton and in water. The children noticed how the beans changed as they germinated and later transplanted them into a small pot with soil. We then made sure to observe the cycle of our compost pile as we added the organic waste. Everyone happily wrote and shared why they enjoy being inquirers.
