Grade 7 continued with the Unit on Food. Having looked at the human digestive system extensively, our focus this week was on plant nutrition. We looked at the role played by leaves during photosynthesis, adaptations of the leaves to this role, and extended this through examining the importance of light energy during photosynthesis. Students also experimented on extracting leaf pigments to see the different colors the leaf takes up at different times of the year.
