The Ripple Effect of Inspiration: How Mateus Led the Way in Math! š
Learning is contagious, and this week in our classroom, we saw firsthand how powerful peer inspiration can be!
It all started when Mateus asked for help to explore number sense. He began by counting dots, matching them to written numbers, and building towers to represent each quantity. As his understanding grew, he was ready for a new challengeāa whiteboard and marker to practice writing the numbers himself.
Mateus was having so much fun that his enthusiasm quickly caught on:
-
First, Burak was inspired to join in the fun.
-
Seeing their excitement, Maryam and Waniya jumped right into the activity.
-
Before long, Sultan joined the group, too!
In no time, Mateus stepped naturally from student to teacherāguiding his friends, helping them write numbers, and turning math practice into a joyful team effort.
This is the beauty of child-led learning. When educators act as guidesāstepping in to recognize a teachable moment or offer just the right challengeāchildren take ownership, their confidence shines, and authentic learning unfolds completely naturally! šāØ
