This week, our Grade 7 students took another step towards becoming more independent and confident scientists. We had the opportunity to work individually in the laboratory, allowing students to become more familiar with scientific apparatus while developing their practical investigation skills.
These activities are helping students build the foundations of scientific investigation: using equipment safely, making careful observations, collecting evidence, recording measurements and thinking critically about what their evidence tells them.
It has been wonderful to see the students becoming increasingly comfortable in the laboratory and taking greater responsibility for their own learning and practical work.
