Grade 9 students are working on descriptive travel writing. They started by personifying a city and then they had to transform the description into an evocative monologue performance. It is not easy to stand up in front of one’s peers to perform and some students clearly felt uncomfortable. Yet, they all took on the challenge and delivered a monologue. Now, it is up to them to decide if they want to take the challenge even further and produce a monologue performance for their summative.
