This week the grade 8 students watched the movie Ender’s Game (2 students also opted to read the novel) in preparation for their formative task to create a science fiction movie poster for the 2025 re-make of Ender’s Game. Each student chose a learner profile attribute and made notes as to how the attribute was evident in the main character, Ender. The students explored other science fiction movie posters to determine the conventions of a movie poster. Ultimately, on Thursday, they created their own movie posters with a focus through the tagline and central image on the learner profile attribute.
