Welcome back to the rhythm, everyone!
As the beautiful month of Ramadan has drawn to a close, the halls of Al Batinah International School are once again echoing with the vibrant sounds of music! We’ve missed the joyful noise and are absolutely thrilled to see our students eagerly returning to their musical pursuits as they gear up for what promises to be a spectacular season of Summer Music Concerts.
While the magic of drama and theatre will be fondly remembered, the energy surrounding our return to music is palpable. The students are buzzing with excitement, ready to dive back into the world of melodies, harmonies, and rhythms.
A Global Chorus in the Early Years (KG – Grade 2):
Our youngest musicians have been on a delightful journey around the world through song! From catchy children’s games with accompanying tunes to energetic action songs that get everyone moving, and enchanting stories woven with musical threads, these budding artists have been exploring the rich tapestry of global cultures. Imagine the sweet sounds of different languages filling the air as they learn songs from far-off lands! It’s been a joy to witness their enthusiasm and the sheer delight on their faces as they discover new sounds and traditions.
Lights, Camera, Music! (Grade 3 – 6):
Meanwhile, our older elementary students have been immersed in the captivating world of music from movies and musical theatre. They’ve been exploring iconic theme songs and memorable melodies, not just learning the notes and lyrics, but also delving into the context of the music and the era of the films or productions they originate from. From soaring orchestral scores to Broadway showstoppers, it’s been a fantastic opportunity for them to understand the power of music in storytelling and its ability to evoke emotion and transport us to different worlds.
The Road to the Summer Concerts:
The focus now shifts towards preparing for our highly anticipated Summer Music Concerts! The excitement is building as students begin to hone their skills and prepare their performances. We can already hear snippets of melodies and see glimpses of enthusiastic practice sessions happening around the school.
