Grade 9s have been working towards their summative analysis of a poem by engaging in collaborative activities this week. First, they shared observations and questions. They then took notes from each other to improve their understanding of “Man and Beast” – one of the poems they have been analysing. Then students wrote interpretations of the purpose and message of the poem by focusing on its tone and mood. Finally, they used the Criterion A descriptors to write feedback for each other as well as feedback on critical thinking and communication skills development.
