Grade 8 MYP Design students are now halfway through their exciting interdisciplinary project in collaboration with Math and Science. In teams of two to three, they are designing and constructing small-scale models of national parks to examine how environmental changes influence patterns in nature. This hands-on experience allows students to explore the interdependence of species, the effects of climate change, and the importance of ecological balance. With a strong emphasis on the IB learner profile attribute of being knowledgeable, students are integrating mathematical concepts, scientific principles, and creative design skills to deepen their understanding of real-world environmental challenges. Through this project, they are developing critical thinking skills while reflecting on sustainability and conservation efforts.
