Dear Families

Well done to all of our swimmers who represented ABIS at the annual TAISM Relay Swimming Competition in Muscat this week. The girls were one of 3 schools competing and secured second place overall. For some of our girls this was their first competition and it was great to see their competitive spirit and how much they enjoyed the event. The boys team competed against 5 other schools and secured first place by winning every race! Many of our swimmers train very hard every day and we could not be more proud of them. They are a testament to how hard work pays off!

Our Grade 12 students have reached the halfway point of their final exams! They have been outstanding role models to our Grade 11 students who are about to start their mock exams. Grade 10 students are also preparing for their IB eAssessment examinations. We wish all of them success. It is a good time to remind them about maintaining a healthy balance between their studies and other activities. Healthy eating, good sleep habits and activities that help them to relax will help them to study effectively and feel well prepared.

As we close this week with a school closure day, it helps to reinforce how our pedagogy and school systems enable our students to be independent learners. Teachers are still able to provide work through our google classroom and ManageBac platform. They are aware of expectations and can reach out to their teachers for support if needed.

I hope that everybody is able to stay safe and well during the anticipated weather, and look forward to seeing everybody back in school on Sunday.
