Dear Parents and Students,

Good afternoon, I hope these few words find you well. Welcome to the end of week 30 of our school year. It has been an interesting week for sure.

This week we were face to face learning for one day and then in online, asynchronous learning mode for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as a result of the intense weather conditions. This is a great training ground for transition into Grade 7 and I would like to thank families and students for attending to learning in online mode so well. For part of this week, due to the weather there was no internet and I have heard news and seen a number of videos of flooding around Sohar and through out Oman. With this, I hope that everyone is safe and that things are able to return to normal as soon as possible.

Due to the adverse weather conditions and the interruptions to key infrastructure, for those who have been unable to complete assignments or connect to the internet and google classroom. Please do not be too anxious about this as if this is the case there must be a good reason and we can obviously work to catch up when we are back together.

If students have been able to access google classroom then assignments set have included:

These include; completing a mind map or brainstorm for our next units on Migration and Climate change and posting this to google classroom

Completing a self reflection on their last unit (How The World Works -Flight) Research Journal Rubric.

Reading and completing a summary of readings for our new class shared book  “A Long Walk To Water” then posting this to google classroom

Completing math sets and posting this to google classroom

Students have also been given the opportunity to review their Term 3 goals and to set new goals for Term 4 before also preparing their portfolio for Student Led Conferences next week.
