Dear Secondary Families

We have come to the time of year where many of our students are preparing for examinations. Our Grade 12 students are about to start their study leave in preparation for their final Diploma Programme (DP) Exams and Grade 10 have just completed their Mocks in preparation for their final Middle Years Programme (MYP) exams. Grade 11 are also busy preparing for their Mocks.

We have been reminding them about how the International Baccalaureate (IB) program is unique in helping them to be prepared. It not only entails mastering subject content but also developing essential Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills. These skills, integral to the IB curriculum, encompass critical thinking, communication, research, self-management, and social skills. Incorporating ATL skills into exam preparation involves employing effective study techniques, such as analyzing information critically, synthesizing complex concepts, communicating ideas clearly, managing time efficiently, and collaborating with peers for collective learning.

We also talk to our students about maintaining a healthy balance between work and other activities. Looking after their physical, social and mental health is critical in helping them through what can be a stressful period. We are very proud of everything they have already achieved and wish them success during this period.

Some key dates to be mindful of;

Thursday 11th April – Term 3 Reports will be issued.

Tuesday 16th April – Secondary Parent Coffee Morning.

Have a lovely weekend
