Exhibition (or Literacy + Numeracy + UoI) Summary
This week (of interesting weather), students completed a basic facts assessment for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This is a timed assessment for speed and accuracy of recall and is the exact same assessment that students have completed three times previously. Results of this assessment are stored in portfolios. Please talk about the results. This (short-er) week we recognized all of the hard work students put into their learning journey throughout PYP Exhibition by completing reflections: reading, writing, and unit of inquiry through SeeSaw posts. Students, also, shared a celebratory lunch on Wednesday afternoon. (I apologize for not taking any photographs; I was busy managing the students.) Students also thanked their mentor teachers with a hand-wrapped mug and gift card. Mr. Nicholson and I arranged some treats for them–as well–on Thursday morning. More than anything, as a parent you have a lot to celebrate! Google Classroom
As previously mentioned and as part of students transitioning from the PYP into the MYP, this week we are also finalizing moving from SeeSaw–as the preferred platform connecting school to home–to Google Classroom. As soon as all students have logged into the G6 PYP classroom, an invitation to join will be sent out. Please be aware that this platform allows all users to keep up to date with information, tasks, assessments, notices, and reports.
