Good afternoon and Happy Thursday everyone..

This week, was an awesome week. Students may be a bit tired today but they have worked hard and performed like champions this week as they have presented their exhibition projects to a variety of audiences sharing their learning journey, their process and their exhibition product. A big thank you to everyone that attended our special viewing of our Exhibition, our students, your children really shone like stars and did such a great job.

This week was extremely busy with final preparations for presentations, giving presentations over two days to a variety of audiences, and reflecting on presentations including taking down displays. Speaking of which, some students will take everything home, some students will place artifacts of learning on the walls of the G6 learning space, some students placed artwork in the LC3 atrium, and a few students kept their visual presentations intact in the LC1 or LC2 atrium. Overall, I hope that you’re as proud of your child(ren)’s accomplishments as their teachers are throughout this learning journey.

Exhibition (or Literacy + Numeracy + UoI) Summary

This week, students demonstrated their agency: choice, ownership, and voice by presenting their PYP Exhibition projects. It was most excellent to have friends and family join us for the penultimate learning celebration in the primary years on Tuesday evening! Because of this, there’s not much to summarize as you–yourself–were part of this week’s learning. Please take some time to check out G6 W23 in Pictures by adding, downloading, or just browsing through all of the sights and sounds throughout the week.

There are some highlights that I want to point out. Students recorded an initial TED Talk on Monday afternoon in preparation for presentations on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students recorded another take of a TED Talk on Wednesday afternoon to chart how much they’ve progressed from meeting with so many different audiences. Last but not least, students created a short video–a bit like a promotional video or commercial–summarizing their PYP Exhibition learning journey.

Home Learning – aka Homework

Enjoy a well-deserved break! We’ll begin new units in numeracy and literacy + Unit of Inquiry as soon as school resumes.

Sincere regards,

Your partners in learning.
