This week the students have been communicating with one another about what they have in common with others and what makes them different from their partner. They have been recording this data on Venn Diagrams using words and illustrations. Using their communication skills students explained their Venn Diagrams to the class and answered questions from others.
In literacy we have started to introduce two sounds coming together to make a new sound, these are called digraphs. This is a significant move towards the children becoming more knowledgeable about the English language. The students are attempting to read words found in the school environment with more enthusiasm and curiosity. It reminds us of the importance of utilizing opportunities for daily reading of books, shop signs and food labels both in school and in the wider community.
